Join an exclusive in-person tour of one of the Natural History Museum’s historic diorama halls.
Celebrating the 100th anniversary of these exhibits, Natural History Museum is restoring and reopening a diorama hall that has been closed for decades. Visitors will experience immersive new installations by contemporary artists RFX1 (Jason Chang), Joel Fernando, and Yesenia Prieto (working as a three-artist team), as well as Saul Becker and Lauren Schoth, highlighting dioramas as a unique blend of art and science. Explore themes of biodiversity, ecology, conservation, colonialism, and evolving museum display techniques. Engage with the museum’s active diorama program and examine these illusions of wilderness through these detailed displays.
